Inside My Mind

This book is a compilation of written works and artistic creations created by people from different walks of life. These people do, however, share one thing in common, experience with mental illnesses- some directly, while others indirectly. It is these struggles and triumphs that have inspired their creations. The goal of this book is not to cure mental illness, rather it is to raise awareness. Living with a mental illness and even talking about it carries immense shame and stigma, that I hope to shatter through awareness and understanding. The goal of this book is to provide an inside look into an individual’s experience with mental illness and how unique it is for each person. By reading this book, a non suffering individual gains some insight into the mind and experiences of a person who is suffering and, hopefully, eliminates misconception. For the sufferer the book creates a sense of unity in a group of people who often feels inherently alone.
