None But The Brave

Keren lives in a strange world, for it is populated by elves and dwarves and dragons, as well as men, and magic influences the lives of men. At the same time though, for Keren it is a drab world. Magic is a part of life, but it does not seem to him a magical world or a beautiful one. He is the nephew of a poverty-stricken market trader and is expected to work hard to help suppport his cousins. He dreams of going off to the wild interior of the land and coming back with a chestful of gold; he dreams of meeting beautiful elfin princesses and other strange encounters. He has many dreams, and many of them come true. Keren's adventures become real events but he still dreams of further and stranger adventures beyond the dragon mountains. where no man of elf has ventured. Even after he has killed a dragon and become rich and succesful he still dreams on . . . These adventures at times seem more real than a fantasy world for they are based on the real life adventures of the author in the South American Jungle.
