The Art of Memory is a compilation of the Aquinas Memory Works, which are good sentences, quotes, songs, prayers, and poems that we study for two main reasons. First, we only know what we remember, so we must practice our faculty of memory. Secondly, if we are to practice the skill of memorization, it should be done with “words worth remembering” and passing down as tradition.
