In Our Own Words is a collection of short stories, varying greatly in topic and scale. All by the same author, these stories will take you through the harsh realities of life, the importance of family, and the downsides to being immortal. Stalin’s Holocaust: The Holodomor Is a short story about Alexander (Sasha) and his experience in Soviet Ukraine during the collectivization of agriculture of the “BreadBasket” of Europe, also known as Ukraine. Trust but Verify is a poem based on the old Russian proverb. It’s a cautionary tale about making sure that the people who tell you things are being honest, and the perils that many fall into by being too trusting. Home is a poem about what home means. It’s a poem about all of humanity and how despite humanity calling only a single planet home, we all have our own spaces that we rely on for comfort and safety. The Immortal Man Is a story that details how the life of an immortal comes with many challenges, as he faces the moral dilemma of how to leave his old life behind, despite his feelings and emotions.
