Christian doctrine as it is commonly taught is much too difficult for the average lay person to understand. However, an in-depth study of God and his ways provides the only reliable basis for all true Christian thought and practice and is therefore both essential and practical for all believers to undertake. Every major doctrine is examined in this Book and is discussed at some length in simple language with the layman in mind. The great Reformation truth that salvation is received totally by the grace of God through faith alone forms the foundation of this effort. The author then endeavors to continue the work of reform by reexamining today’s commonly accepted Christian teaching in the light of Holy Scripture, as did the early reformers. The important work of the Reformation never ends as the torch is passed down from one generation of believers to the next to deal with the infiltration of error into the doctrine of truth.
