A.T. Pierson followed Spurgeon at Metropolitan Tabernacle. Most of his books are long out of print. This volume dates from the late nineteenth century and demonstrates his command of classical literature as well as the ability to apply Biblical principle in ways that transcend decades of time. His own words describe the content of this book.
