Since 1984 alpacas they have been found in the United States. Alpacas have coexisted lived humans for thousands of years. They are related to South America, mostly Peru, Chile and Bolivia. They have been domesticated for over 5,000 years. They are also related to the members of the camelid family Each year approximately produces 5-10 pounds of fiber per alpaca, per year.
They also have allot of fiber is stronger and more resilient than even other finest sheep's wool. Unlike sheep's wool, however, the alpaca contains no lanolin and is ready to spin right off the animal.
