Jill Freeman decides to purchase Walker Hill. She lived there as a child and now she's retired. She's an authoress and one day while sitting at her computer involved in a story, she hears a moan coming from the woods behind her house. She discovers a man almost dead from a rifle bullet. She set outs to help him recover his health, his memory, and to put and end to the harassment she's receiving from Mickey Bolson, the boss of the gang of criminals that are unleashed against her. All the events that lead up to her solving the crime involves her in lies, deceit,murder, plots, and attempts on her life.
