The waiting period is a period of self-love, self-work, and self-investment, spiritual warfare, quality intimate walk with God, getting to know you better, building a culture of hard work, learning to be patient, asking questions, knowledge acquisition, self-pampering, pursing your vision, discovering, developing, and deploying purpose. While you wait it is an opportunity to become a better you. The better the preparation. Questions you must ask yourself while you wait; (Does sharing come easily to you? Or are you willing to learn to share? Are you prepared to put another person ahead of your career? even if it means not getting to the top. How forgiving are you? Have you discovered your purpose (without purpose you will marry wrong) and do you have a clear vision (on paper) and daily goal for your life? Can you hold your tongue when provoked? Find out your blood groups? Do you respect the opposite sex and how sexually disciplined are you? How did your last relationship end and are you healed? How strong is your prayer life? and have you taken time to confront your background, history, demonic record, parental legacies, negative patterns, family laws, etc.? Who are you accountable to and how many books on marriage and relationship have you read.? Do you have anger issues? and how emotionally intelligent are you? Have you gotten over your ex, and have you broken the soul tie? How do you handle offences? What is the role of men and women in marriage? Will you marry you? What fights men and women in your father’s and mother’s house? How long have you been a Christian and how is your character? Do you love you because if you do not love you will settle for anything? Are your parents Christians and do you have a life of fasting and passionate prayers? Do you love yourself and have you dealt with your emotional baggage? How are marriages in your family? Are you an honest person or a lair? WHO are your mentors? How addicted are you to the word of God? What is the quality of friends around you? Do you have financial intelligence? How disciplined and serious are you about your life and future? The hard truth is that you do not attract who you want you attract who you are? The better you become the become you attract. It is dangerous to try to get to know someone unless you first know yourself very well otherwise when you marry you will get lost.
