Nana's Book

Betty Garland Michel, or “Nana” as she is known by her six grandchildren, has always put “Family First”. Making the journey to California in the back of a Ford Model A Coupe from Nebraska in 1935, her family found new opportunities out West. She writes, “Even at that early age my parents taught me to ‘make do’ and count our blessings. They had common sense, were honest, learned from others, had good work ethics, always persevered and loved family and friends. Family was first with them; their good examples encouraged those that followed to work hard and to achieve in life.
