The Instructional Coach Planner Great coaching begins with purpose. The Instructional Coach Planner was created with the real work of instructional coaching in mind—the planning, reflecting, learning, supporting, and leading that are all part of the role. The planner begins with an opportunity to think about who you are as a coach and what guides your work. Through reflection on your coaching identity, mission, vision, values, commitments, and focus for the year, you can establish a strong foundation before moving into the day-to-day work of coaching. As the year unfolds, the planner provides space to look ahead, identify coaching priorities, set goals, and plan each month with purpose. Monthly pages help you keep track of your coaching work, professional learning, leadership responsibilities, professional well-being, priorities, meetings, important dates and deadlines, celebrations, and reflections. There is also space to document the professional learning you facilitate as well as the learning you pursue for yourself. Because coaches spend so much time helping others grow, it is important that we remain intentional about our own growth too. At the end of the year, you are invited to pause and reflect—to celebrate what went well, consider the impact of your coaching on teachers and students, capture lessons learned, and think about what you want to carry forward into the year ahead. My hope is that The Instructional Coach Planner becomes more than a place to keep track of what you have to do. May it be a place to think, plan, reflect, celebrate growth, and remain focused on what matters most: supporting teachers and strengthening student learning. Plan purposefully. Coach intentionally.
