Chevalier

'Chevalier' is a story of boy who lived in 15th Century France during the turbulent days of the Hundred Years War. It traces his journey from childhood to adulthood, and the path that led him from page to squire to knight. There are battles- always there are battles - but there is also the story of a young man trying to make his way in a confusing world: to accept the world he finds himself in, and to try and get that same world to accept him. When the book ends all is not resolved, much is left incomplete, and this sets the scene for the sequel to 'Chevalier', where the hero of the story, Roland de Bascal, has to decide between love and duty, between a lost cause but a true one, and a new opportunity but a vain one.
