BLACK Lawrence stands for: Black Literature & Arts Collective of Kansas, Lawrence BLACK Lawrence believes in the celebration of black creative expression as a vehicle for artist and community growth. We seek to elevate the dialogue around the meaning of being a black artist and creating black art. We are artists of various mediums, including visual art, music, poetry, and more. Each of our members comes as they are to inspire and support each other. Through workshops and showcases, it is our mission to assist black artists in networking with one another and the community, as well as to transform spaces to become inclusive of black people.
