Suffering Soldier is a dark Historical drama about a Young 19-year-old soldier named Yevgeny Rodionov. The story takes place in 1996 during the Chechen War in Russia. It's also important to note that Yevgeny is an Orthodox Christian growing up during a time in Russia where Christians were heavily restricted and persecuted by the Russian government. A young Yevgeny joins the russian military and is deployed in Chechnya alongside his comrades, and soon after, he's captured by Chechen rebels. The Chechen rebel force ordered every one of Yevgeny's fellow soldiers to renounce their faith in Jesus, with the punishment for refusing the order being brutal torture, eventually leading to death. However, even in the face of this persecution, Yevgeny refuses to renounce his faith in the cross.
