Trauma can have you negotiating your pain from one perspective. Allow yourself to be honest with the situation by facing the truth. Not by past beliefs but getting a realistic perception of how you feel and what really transpired. In class, I was given a task on a situation that happened 10 years ago. Fast forward today, I analyze the truth by another aspect that was not documented until later. To find out the person had the right to be hurt but their view on the situation wasn't accurate. You can't blame others and never acknowledge you played a big part in it too. No one will help you heal that's something you MUST want for yourself. Give yourself the chance to heal and let go. Letting go isn't forgetting it's not for them. It's for you. Forgiveness isn't saying it's okay, it's your way of moving on.
