Many people seem unable to accept something they do not fully understand. The purpose of this book is to provide assistance in reaching that understanding – not in a scholastic or religious or a hypothetical way – but, clearly, for real people living in the real world. It is non-denominational, neither criticizing nor supporting any specific rituals, doctrines or practices but drawing on scripture, history, science, psychology and common sense to reach the conclusions it presents.
