Set in the modern day United States, a mycologist, Dr. Jen Marx, is called upon by the CDC to observe, analyze, and identify an invasive mushroom species that harms the integrity of homes across the East Coast. Unbeknownst to Dr. Marx and the US Government, these fungi bear a grim secret.
