American Law I — Book Description
Give your high school student the opportunity to study American law through the cases, constitutional principles, and legal reasoning that shape the American legal system.
American Law I is a rigorous, attorney-authored, full-year high school course designed for approximately 36 weeks of study and 1.0 high school credit. Rather than simply memorizing legal terminology, students engage directly with landmark Supreme Court cases, constitutional questions, and real-world applications of the law.
Topics include constitutional structure, federalism, separation of powers, judicial review, civil rights and liberties, due process, equal protection, criminal procedure, search and seizure, interrogation, punishment, and the rights of the accused.
Throughout the course, students learn to brief cases, analyze precedent, identify legal issues, construct arguments, evaluate competing interpretations, and apply constitutional principles to complex factual situations.
Designed primarily for grades 10–12, American Law I offers homeschool students, co-ops, and independent learners an academically substantial introduction to law while remaining accessible to students encountering legal analysis for the first time.
Attorney-authored. Case-based. Constitution-centered.
Students don't just learn about the law. They learn to think like lawyers.
