CALIFORNIA MAGIC

This book is a celebration of California’s beauty, diversity, and spirit as seen through the eyes and voices of fourth-grade students. Inspired by the state’s four major regions—the coast, valley, desert, and mountains—students researched California’s landscapes, plants, and animals and expressed their learning through original poetry, watercolor paintings inspired by California State Parks, and digital collages. By weaving together language arts, social studies, visual art, and digital design, this collection reflects the power of arts integration at California Creative Learning Academy, where creative expression deepens understanding and honors multiple ways of thinking. Together, these poems and artworks form a vibrant portrait of place, inviting readers to slow down, notice details, and appreciate both the natural world and the creativity of young artists and writers.
