This book is the second collection of stories by Carl Monks. And like its predecessor, Matters Of Life And Death, it doesn’t have a theme. The subjects range from a year in the life of a Catholic priest, to a few minutes in the life of a wealthy couple. Another story, concerns a couple of bikers who are hoping to relive their honeymoon, but who are in for a surprise. Yet another tells of an old man’s first day at a day centre for the elderly. The stories are of varying leangths ranging from a few lines two two stories that could be called novellas. Two of the longer stories are extracts taken from Mr Monks’s Bryndle Folk series which is also published by Lulu.com. Some of these stories will surprise you.
