As Kaito uncovers the truth, he is drawn into a rebellion led by Father Michael, a disillusioned architect of the system, who seeks to awaken humanity to the dangers of manufactured spirituality and algorithmic control. The novel’s climax, known as the Great Unplugging, sees the global digital network severed, leaving billions in a state of existential crisis as their curated realities vanish. In the aftermath, society is forced to confront the void left by the loss of digital faith and to rediscover the messy, imperfect, but genuine connections of physical community.
