Cry Version A

Cry is a drama that discovers what happens when people hide their imperfections and refuse to cry them out. Cry begins with Brian and Brenda (married couple) discussing Brian’s family. Although we are not completely sure why Brenda decides not join Brian’s family dinner, the discussion makes one curious enough to stay for the rest of the show. Lucas is Brian’s cousin, Lesley, is Lucas’ mother and Geoffrey is his stepfather. Vivian, Heather, and Tasha are the sisters of Lucas. Malcolm is the son of Vivian, Evelyn is Brian’s mother and Derek is Heather’s Boyfriend. In act one we learn of the families’ dysfunctions from molestation to domestic violence to abortions to rejections to hatred and shame.
