Methods of Doing Humanities 114: Supplemental Materials

This is a course reader for the upper division course Humanities 114 (Legacy of Asia, offered by the Department of Humanities and cross-listed in other departments at the San Jose State University [San Jose, California, USA]). It is intended for students to gain a basic understanding of Asian cultures and Chinese and Indian civilizations as the leaders and peoples of these cultural traditions have attempted to modernize their economic and political systems in their responses to Western challenges through times. It contains five main sections: Part I: Methods of Doing Humanities, Part II: Methods of Humanities Paper Writing, Part III: Introduction to Asia, Part IV: Study Guides for Examinations, and Part V: Terms in Buddhism, Confucianism, Daoism, and Hinduism.
