Heavy may the darkness be that enshrouds us but the darkest night gives birth to the brightest dawn Heavy is the weight of the people, the weight of the world a world worth living for, a world worth fighting for a world people died for It is the weight we bear to carry it o willingly, o valiantly till the ends of the ends of the ends. Heavy Are We is a poetry collection about heartbreak, loneliness and isolation, finding a sense of purpose, but also of hope and struggle for a better future. It contains 24 poems, evoking fantastic elements, historical narratives, reimaginings, and even every day experience of what it is like being a Filipino community organizer.
