“State Trooper Short Stories is about the 1960’s & 70’s It was the 1960’s, and 70’s, two lane roads, no inter state highways, most small County Sheriff Offices shut down at midnight, small towns had no Police, uniformed State Troopers patrolled areas a 100 mile wide. Court was held in homes and businesses of the local Justice of the Peace. In rural areas, it was still the Wild West being tamed by the law. Illinois State Police Detectives Provided Crime Scene Processing and Investigation for most major crimes in the state. There were nine State Police Detectives working out of Springfield, the State Capitol. o
