LIGHTFORMMOTION

A collection of color and black-and-white portraits, this book is the final product of the Senior Capstone class in the Visual Arts at Duke University. On a theoretical level, LightFormMotion can be broken down into two distinct – but not separate – sub-series: form and motion, and shadow and light. Taken as a whole, the project can be a representation of the human experience. The form and motion we create in our lives and communities frame the basic trajectory of this experience, which shadow and light complement by fleshing out our emotional and interpersonal understanding of these systems. Understood holistically, these two facets of humanity emphasize the honesty and sometimes frayed beauty of the human experience.
