Jim taught English to dozens of students, but his own life was a quiet, lonely thing.
He watched them grow, move on, disappear into the world-except for Marco, the
dyslexic kid with a mind like wildfire, the one who stuck around, who stayed in touch.
Then there was Thalia. Another student, another lost soul trying to wrangle English
into submission with Jim as a tutor. Marcos never met her, never even heard her voice,
just a name passed between lessons, a phantom on the other end of Jim's updates.
Years passed. Marco got his diploma, moved on. But Thalia lingered in his mind like
an unfinished sentence. One day, he asked Jim about her.
Jim put a bullet in his brain a week later, next to an old newpaper article about a dead kid.
Now Marco is searching for Thalia on his own, and he is not the only one searching.
But some ghosts should stay buried, and some names should never be spoken out loud.
Because what he is about to uncover isn't just a long-lost classmate.
It's something much, much worse.
