Why does nobody check Atlantis? Thousands of people have written about Atlantis, but nobody has made the most basic checks. We know where Atlantis was, because Herodotus told us, but nobody has checked the archaeology there. Plato said that Atlantis had a major war with Egypt around 9000 BC, but nobody has compared the archaeology of Egypt to see if this war happened. Plato said the war was described on the walls of the Egyptian temples, but nobody ever checked. And so on and so on. We all have opinions about Atlantis and other mythology, but we don't make the slightest effort to check if it is real. Why is that?
In this book I check Plato's claims. I show how they are confirmed by archaeology and multiple ancient sources. I then check other ancient claims, from the lost civilisation of Mu, to life after death. All of these things are easy to prove, but nobody ever checks. Why don't we check? What are we afraid of?
