In Doorways: The Architecture of Threshold, architect Christopher Pizzi explores the doorway as a cultural site. With a portfolio of examples drawn on site in Jerusalem, Washington, DC and San Francisco, he studies how the character of doorways tells a story about people, places and cultures. This collection of drawings documents a range of doorway models, from the extraordinary to the everyday, that reveal local craft practices, regional identity, and international relations through the built environment.
