Located in Berlin in the mid-1950’s this novel tells the story of the real Operation Stopwatch, a joint audacious intelligence venture by the British and American intelligence services. The British tap into and eavesdrop on the Soviets military telephone and teleprinter cables lying just under the streets of Berlin. However, British intelligence has a secondary and even more daring motive, to set a trap to uncover the most highly placed Soviet spy in their ranks.
