The Red Admirals

Short story based on an event witnessed in 1987 when my wife and I were in Normandy, France, after a great storm which destroyed many homes, trees, buildings etc. We were visiting the war graves of brave pilots who lost their lives in the war, and noticed that not one cross had been affected by the storm, and not only that, but each cross was surrounded by hundreds of fluttering Red Admirals, and this was in November. This story was broadcast on the BBC and as a result of that, I received hundreds of letters from all over the world, from people who had had similar experiences with Red Admirals upon the death of loved ones. I hope in time to share here, some of their letters with you.
