Βack το the year 237 BC in Greece. Athletic games played a prominent role in ancient Greece and the winners were highly respected. Not men only, but Greek women too had their own games- the Heraean Games- held every four years in honor of Hera the queen of goddesses and in analogy to the Olympic games that were strictly a men’s affair, the Heraeans were strictly a women’s affair. Athletes, officers in charge and spectators were all women. In the Heraeans women were competing in five events: two-hundred-yard foot race, javelin throw, weightlifting, dancing and wrestling. Wrestling was a noble competition in which the contestants wrestled for their own pride and glory until the better woman emerged in the wrestling sand pit. The wrestling winners became famous and their achievements were depicted on pots and statues, but only one of them became legend, Xanthia from Sparta the glorious city of Ancient Greece. Already being wrestling winner in four Heraean Games she aspires to win a fifth one and be the first woman who won five Heraean wrestling titles in succession. However, Cynea the queen of Sparta has other plans in mind and plots against Xanthia to favor her protegee Zena. Who will win? Xanthia or Zena? A historical and dramatic novel expanded in 26 illustrated B&W pages with 250 panels. Contains nudity. ADULTS ONLY.
