Arthur Murrell, who took his camera with him during his active service in World War One continues his travels. During the period 1917 to 1920 he was with the 128th Pioneers bringing the first metalled roads to inhospitable places. He meets interesting people and sights in Quetta, Nasik, Allahabad, Zawitha (Kurdistan), building a road to Karind and Kermanshah, based in Sermil (Iran), before moving on to Mosul, Nineveh, Basra and finally Kut (Iraq). There are scenes also of Bombay and Delhi.
