Only one person knows it wasn’t a drug dealer who killed San Francisco police lieutenant Jack McKenna during a Mission District drug raid – the other cop who shot and killed both McKenna and the drug dealer.
That is, until Jack’s recently graduated, star Stanford quarterback son, Sean, stumbles across information that another cop had reason to kill his dad. Not knowing who that other cop is, Sean can’t trust anyone in the police department. So he turns to 35-year veteran TV reporter Ray Rojas.
This could become the biggest story Ray’s ever covered, just the thing to revive his sagging career. But he’s not sure he wants it. Six years clean and sober, Ray knows the stress could put him back at the bottom of a bottle.
Sean has his own demon – the dark depression brought on by his father’s death. Most days he doesn’t know if he can get out of bed, much less find his father’s real killer.
