Foretold Princess

Thirteen-year-old Hope has never been able to fit in. Despite the best intentions, she always seems to be in trouble and can't understand why. After problems at home and school, she is sent to beautiful but mysterious Lake Avala to live with relatives for the summer. Within moments of her arrival, Hope crosses paths with the gardéans, a controversial group of teenagers who seem to have the lake (and the sheriff's department) under their control. Soon Hope meets Johnathon, a boy who can turn into animals. He takes her to the Forbidden Islands, the secret home of a lost world of magical creatures. But trouble follows Hope. Her coming triggers a decades-old plot to overthrow the gardéans, and once this forgotten enemy has struck, it will be up to Hope to save the only world she's ever understood.
