Dan Konzen, MBA, Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), is a business strategist, entrepreneur, author, and corporate board director with over two decades in executive leadership, academia, finance, technology, risk, and governance.
His academic and executive careers developed in parallel. For nearly two decades, Dan served as a College Chair and professor in information systems and technology, finance, and strategic management while building, leading, and advising businesses. His executive experience includes CEO and C-suite leadership across strategy, finance, enterprise risk, technology, and cybersecurity. His credentials and licenses span governance, risk, technology, and financial services.
Dan’s perspective is grounded in achievement and hard-earned experience. He has built multiple businesses, successfully exited several, and learned equally valuable lessons from ventures that did not go as planned. A decorated U.S. Navy Fleet Marine Force (FMF) Hospital Corpsman, Dan served with Marine Corps units and now serves as Flotilla Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. These experiences have shaped the resilience, judgment under pressure, and service-oriented leadership he brings to business.
Through writing, speaking, teaching, and advisory work, Dan translates his experience into strategies that challenge small business owners to think differently, turn adversity into opportunity, build enduring business value, and position.
