Into the Gray

"Into the Gray" is a fantasy novel that follows the journey of Silas and Quinn, two young men from different worlds—the dunes and the mountains, respectively. They are reunited with Silas's long-lost father, Wraith, but Silas decides to leave with Quinn to explore a new world beyond their homes. The two, along with their mountain dog, Corvus, embark on a trek into the mountains to investigate a rumor of a strange creature. Their journey leads them into a treacherous world of hidden dangers and a chilling fog. They eventually find a cave, their intended sanctuary, and a small, four-toed footprint of the creature from the rumors. They hunt for food, learning to use their new skills in the wild. During a battle with the creatures, both Silas and Quinn undergo a transformation, developing new powers. They learn that the creatures they encountered are guardians protecting the mountain from an ancient evil known as the Heart of the Frost. After a difficult battle, they wound the Heart of the Frost, forcing it back into a dormant state. With a new purpose, they must now take the crystal containing the dormant evil far from the mountain to a place where it can never be reawakened.
