Sin-Eater

In a village shrouded by tradition and superstition, a solitary figure known as the sin-eater walks among the living, a necessary outcast reviled and feared. Archibald is a man etched by the burdens of a thousand forgotten souls, a living shadow who performs a primal ritual at the bedside of the deceased. He is the last terrible resort for peace, consuming the physical, tangible sins of the departed, sins that manifest as a cold dread and a suffocating weight. His somber existence is shattered by the arrival of a chilling visitor: Death itself, who has come not to claim him, but to offer him a grim new purpose. Archibald learns he can only find his own peace by performing one final, horrifying task—finding a successor. To achieve his own salvation, he must choose to pass his terrible burden to another, an act that would be the first true sin of his own. His quiet duty is suddenly interrupted by the needs of the village, forcing him back into his role as he grapples with the terrifying choice that lies ahead and a legacy that is darker than he ever imagined.
