HOUDINI (Dan Pratt)

This tune started out as a personal exercise: I wanted to write a "straight ahead" piece that had sections that were a tritone apart, while keeping each section relative to one another and keeping the transition smooth between the two. The third section became necessary to further obscure the transitions between the key centers as well as to add an anchor to the tune. Houdini is a medium to med-up swing, with solos over the entire ABC form.
