Community Event Planning and Evaluation

The mission of the librarians to improve society through the knowledge creation in their communities marries well with maker culture Makerspaces (or maker spaces) can take many forms and can focus on technology, equipment, skills, or a mixture of all three. Our client is Monash Public Library, a medium to large public library. The director of the Monash Library has approached the librarians to assist with ideas for the design of a community development program that can be deployed effectively inside the library premises. The librarians have discovered a gap in the provision of help with programming and coding. After some discussion, the following key requirements and deliverables have been listed. The proposed community programs should demonstrate key elements, a) relevancy to the community, b) suitability to young adults, c) coding in the local school, d) a highly innovative, and new program offering, relevant for the future.
