Life After Religion

Life after religion is the story of my journey away from my Catholic family upbringing; away from my seminary training; and away from the 25 years as a Catholic priest. I could no longer believe in and continue to represent Catholic traditional beliefs (e.g., a judgmental, angry God that punishes with hell.) I tell of my mental and emotional divorce from the Church, a very painful and angry separation. I tell of my very slow healing and the letting go of what I had been. I didn't entirely let go of Christianity. Rather, I chose to reinterpret much of it and let some of it go altogether. This book tells of my personal relationship with Catholicism. Everyone else's relationship is their own story to tell.
