Droit de Seigneur

‘Droit de seigneur’ refers to the rights of a feudal lord over those who worked on his estates, and especially to his ‘right’ to bed any young girl that might catch his eye. In these three short stories, the author observes a parallel situation in the 20th century in which the expatriate male, abroad in a less developed country, might find himself, sometimes unexpectedly, in a similar position. And as always, there are at least two sides to every story.
