SHADOWS OF DUSK

All the poetry contained herein has been chosen by me, Daniel C Nielsen, as that which I feel best exemplifies my best work over the past 20 years. This was not an easy task. As any poet knows, with each poem we pen, we surrender another fragment of our souls. In our hearts and minds, our poems are like children and we love each one differently for different reasons. To place any above the others is tantamount to heresy. Nonetheless, I've done just that. Spanning my various collections over two decades, from the now out of print These Old Bones, to Binary Blasphemies, and ultimately to A Slow Suicide of the Soul, I've marshalled the dark bardic shadows I've cast into a definitive collection. It is my sincerest hope that you enjoy these poems to their utmost and as an end result, look upon your world a little differently
