This book explores the theory of an eastward migration of ancient symbolism and beliefs out of the Ice Age. It gives evidence that the symbolism found in the caves at Lascaux is also seen thousands of years later in Egypt, Mesopotamia, and the Mediterranean. It put forward the hypothesis that there was a culture— Atlantis— that is lost from the record but that connects the Ice Age Magdalenians who painted the caves at Lascaux to the cultures in the fertile crescent,
