"The Brentwood Effect" by Daryle Hawkins had a really a positive affect upon me.(I am ALWAYS for the underdog in any story). It is a story of a young man who has been released from prison for something he did not do. Yet, he had decided to still go strait after finally being released. He was tempted to get into some illegal drug racket by a guy who had picked him up as he was walking. However, he wisely avoided this trap, knowing this would get him in trouble again and continued walking. Once he arrived home the blessings of the Lord began, through the prayers of his mother. He, his mother, with the rest of his family moved to Seattle, Washington. He was offered training to be a manager for a income tax office. Upon receiving the job there he met many lovely young women who showed him much kindness. In fact so much kindness was given to him that he realized his business could not succeed if he kept catering to them; therefore, he had to turn some away.
