Going Down?

Are there different levels in Hell...or Heaven?

I could offer an abridged version of this book, as follows: ‘Chapter One: What do we know about levels of Hell, or levels of punishment? No idea! The End.’ Very tempting, but I hope to offer a slightly longer version. A recent conversation with a fellow believer, made me think about the common perception, or misconception, that there may be different levels of punishment in Hell, and likewise, different levels of rewards in Heaven. Although I have written much about Hell (Upstairs & Downstairs: Heaven, Hell and a New Earth/ Journey, Judgement, Jerusalem: New Life, New Body, New Home/Route 666: The Road to Hell), key elements of which I shall use throughout, I intend to look specifically at the issue of levels of Hell/levels of punishment in Hell. The front cover photograph was my weak attempt at trying to depict the idea that the options are either up or down – Heaven or Hell, and also the notion that there may be different levels. One of the issues with such a depiction is as to whether there is any choice as to which level we arrive at – if indeed such levels exist. As we have no media correspondent in Hell (at least not yet), and nobody has been to Hell and back (at least not the Hell I discuss in this offering), much of what I offer is pure conjecture; though just as much conjecture is used about Heaven (again, nobody has ever been there and returned to inform us any different). Whilst the ideal would be finding all the information necessary in the bible, I’m afraid it isn’t there, thus I use what scripture I can, plus a host of other views and ideas. As with any subject, readers should also carry out their own research, and not be slow in discussing such issues with fellow believers: the fact there may be no factual answers, should not stop such an activity.
