My poetry is Buddhist in quality and tone, although rarely overtly. It is cadenced with the gentle breath of meditation, flowing freely with the concision of sharp apperception. Its images are unexpected and engaging, carrying the thought. Suggestive rather then wordy, the language is however adroit
My decided purpose in writing was to turn suffering and turmoil into resigned Beauty; and I believe I have succeeded in these polished pieces of glass, washed up upon the shore of my refined heart. They stimulate the mind as well as the heart taking poetry back to its source. They are strongly influenced, but influenced only, by the poetry of the Chinese Ch’an Buddhists, particularly Po Chü-I & T’ao Ch’ien; as well as the Japanese Haiku Poets, although these are emphatically not Haiku.
