Elizabethan Sonnet

The English gave to rise to sonnets in the 16th century. Since then the sonnets have become an invaluable part of literature throughout the world across all languages. The pioneers of sonnets in this language have been discussed thoroughly. The likes of Sir Philip Sydney, Edmund Spenser and William Shakespeare are key to understanding the language. Readers and students of the English Language should know in details about all of them and this is the reason I have written this essay to illuminate my readers on the basis of which English stands today.
