'Jungle Sound'supports the goal of helping young children recognize and generate rhymes through rhythm, pattern and musical beat that each word creates and consequently echoes an even flow. It helps emergent readers recognize word and letter patterns later on. The idea is further enhanced in the form of exercises at the end of the story to reinforce various components of literacy such as phonemic awareness -- the ability to isolate and identify different sounds -- auditory discrimination.Furthermore, children become actively involved with rhyming patterns as it appeals to their ear.
