In the early 22nd century, the world has degraded into an oppressive dystopian society dominated by corporations. Most people barely scrape working a mix of formal and informal jobs often placing themselves in danger to make ends meet. This future doesn't breed heroes, and most stories have no happy ending. Daybreak follows several characters and the experience of daily life in a dark future. Shifting the focus of the cyberpunk genre from rebels and anarchists to people just trying to get by.
